A Blaupunkt innovation: the Digiceiver
Blaupunkt has been successful (unique in all the world) in already converting the high-frequency signal of the IF stage at 10.7 MHz into bits and bytes in the receiver and in continuing this digital signal processing right on up to the output stages. This opens up whole new sound opportunities that would never have been possible using analogue concepts without considerable investments in terms of space and costs.
With conventional analogue concepts, the ways and means of influencing the sound are very limited. The car radio has virtually nothing more than bass and treble control and loudness to produce the desired sound. It wasn't until DSP technology was introduced (DSP = Digital Signal Processing) that it became possible to use equalizers like the DSA system by Blaupunkt in car radios. Up to now, however, they were so expensive that it seemed inconceivable to use them in middle-class car radios.
But now the DigiCeiver has crossed this line and offers Digital Parametric Equalizing and BassLogic, two new highlights that allow the user to considerably improve the sound of his car hi-fi system.
